Key health and safety legislation, such as Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and Health and Safety Act (1974); who is responsible for first aid at work and contacting emergency help; what should be in a first aid box; reporting accidents and emergencies, what exactly should be reported and Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).
Wounds, Bleeding and Shock
Types of wounds, abrasion, contusion, incision, etc. ; types of bleeding, venous, cappillary, arterial, etc. ; treating minor wounds and bleeding, when to seek further help; treating severe bleeding, applying a bandage, calling for help, shock.
Injuries
Choking; eye injuries; electric shocks; fractures; sprains and strains; dislocations; spinal injuries; burns and scalds; head injuries.
